Well, my next door neighbour, Sainu Aunty is a charming lady. She stands apart from the other ladies in and around my neighbourhood who are far too interested in what’s happening in their neighbour’s house.
With history spanning decades of food exchange between them, it was no wonder that she presented my mom with a few green apples last month. The sourness of these apples were comparable to lemon and so the last two didn’t find any takers. Yesterday, she presented us with sugarcane from her sister’s house (we were like what!! do people grow sugarcane in their houses!! is that even possible!!). Now, my mom wants to grow a sugarcane grove at my house (not gonna happen in the near future).
Green apple sugarcane salad is a low calorie easy to make dish, rich in nutrients and just what you need this summer to trim away that baby fat and stick onto your eat healthy resolutions.
